INTRODUCTION

The Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery is a nonprofit corporation. Purposes of the Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery include:

• To develop, promote, support, and encourage the science and art of cosmetic surgery.
• To plan and execute examinations to determine the extent of knowledge of cosmetic surgeons.
• To be devoted to postgraduate education in the field of cosmetic surgery and dedicated to patient safety and satisfaction through physician education and examination.

The Goals of the Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery are:

• To promote Standards of Practice in the field of cosmetic surgery as a guide to physicians towards a high quality of surgical and medical care.
• To support and encourage scientific research in cosmetic surgery.
• To perform any and all such acts as are necessary and proper to attain these goals.

HISTORY, EVOLUTION AND PHILOSOPHY

The Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery was formed in 2012 for the purpose of holding examinations to test the knowledge of cosmetic surgeons.

The members of the Faculty of the Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery are selected from internationally experienced cosmetic surgeons dedicated to teaching and maintaining a high quality of patient care in cosmetic surgery.

SPECIALTY OF COSMETIC SURGERY

Cosmetic Surgery is a specialty dedicated to the elective enhancement of human appearance.

The Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery defines cosmetic surgery as a surgery performed on a normal appearing human being to enhance their outlook . Expertise related to the diagnosis, surgery, preoperative management, and prevention and management of complications related to the practice of cosmetic surgery.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBER

Becoming a Member Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery is a significant professional achievement and honour. Members must strive to represent the high ethical and moral standards of the European & Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and to support the Board activities for the advancement of the specialty of cosmetic surgery.

Members agree to adhere to the Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery regarding ethical practice of cosmetic surgery, including advertising and representations to the public and to practice the highest standard of patient care and safety at all times.

CREDENTIALING AND REGISTRATION

A Credentialing Committee shall be appointed by the President of the Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery consisting of at least two members of the Board of Trustees.

The Credentialing Committee shall review all applications and approve qualified Applicants who have satisfied the credentialing requirements.

THE REGISTER

The Global Academy of Cosmetic Surgery shall maintain a Register, in its main office in the India and The US , of all physicians who have passed the Board examination in General Cosmetic Surgery, Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery, or Body Contouring Surgery.

The Register name(s) will be available to any person or entity through a written request.
